Problem Statement
Problem Statement
The Problem: Upperlink Digital, a key player in financial technology, has a robust suite of services. However, its existing digital platform, particularly the user profile and dashboard area, suffers from an outdated interface and a disjointed user experience. Users find it difficult to manage their various services (e.g., payments, domains, software subscriptions) from a single, intuitive location. This lack of a cohesive, user-friendly profile undermines trust and creates friction, leading to a frustrating user journey and potentially high churn rates. The goal was to create a modern, efficient, and trustworthy user hub that aligns with Upperlink's professional brand and provides a seamless experience for its clients.

Process
Process
Discovery & Research (Group Effort):
Stakeholder Interviews: Collaborated with the larger team to interview Upperlink's internal stakeholders, including product managers, developers, and customer support representatives, to understand the core business goals and technical constraints.
User Research: Analyzed existing user feedback and conducted competitive analysis of other fintech and SaaS platforms to identify industry best practices and common user expectations for a profile and dashboard area.
My Specific Contribution: Focused on the user profile, identifying key user pain points related to account management, personal information updates, and service subscription tracking. I mapped out the existing user flow for these tasks, highlighting inefficiencies and drop-off points.
Ideation & Strategy (My Dedicated Section):
User Personas: Developed a specific persona for a typical Upperlink client—e.g., "The SME Business Owner" who needs to manage their company's digital tools efficiently, and "The Developer" who needs quick access to API keys and technical documentation. This helped me to prioritize features within the user profile.
Information Architecture: Redesigned the information hierarchy for the profile section. My key insight was to consolidate all user-related information and actions into a single, well-organized dashboard. This included a main account overview, a clear navigation for billing, security settings, and a dedicated 'My Services' section.
Wireframing: Created a series of low-fidelity wireframes specifically for the user profile, dashboard, and settings pages. The focus was on a clean, modular layout that could be easily adapted and scaled for the different services Upperlink offers.
Design & Prototyping (My Dedicated Section):
UI/UX Design: Designed a high-fidelity mock-up for the user profile and dashboard. My design decisions were guided by the principles of clarity, trust, and efficiency.
Dashboard: Designed a dynamic dashboard that provides a quick overview of the user's active services, recent transactions, and account status at a glance. Used clean data visualization to make complex financial information easy to digest.
Profile Management: Created a simple and secure process for updating personal and company information. Included clear status indicators for account verification and security.
'My Services' Section: My core contribution was designing this new section. It allows users to view and manage all their Upperlink products (e.g., PayGate, domain names, web hosting) from one place, with clear links to service-specific settings and support.
Prototyping: Built an interactive prototype of my section to demonstrate the user flow from the main login to the various sub-sections within the profile, showcasing the new, streamlined experience.
